• English advanced is mandatory (for reports, meetings, e-mails, etc)
• Must have COTS software support experience.
• Does the installation, performs the patching, manages buffer pools, goes to ShopZ to order the product, has hands on experience in CLIST, SMP/E and DSNZ Parms;
• Plan, install, configure, test and implement DB2 for z/OS;
• Manage buffer pools in support of planned or unplanned outages;
• Plan, install, configure, test, and implement DB2 service level upgrade and patches;
• Support DB2 RACF config;
• Plan and run REBIND in support of DB2 service upgrades;
• Plan and use DB2 utilities to back up and recover Db2 Subsystem;
• Plan, install, configure, test and implement: QMF for z/OS, DB2 Admin Tool and Db2 Utilities Suite;
• Provide technical assistance to appropriate groups.

In this position you will:

• Utilize IBM Shopz Services to order/download program products,
• IBM’s SMP/E software products installation and maintenance utility process,
• IBM’s Job Control Language (JCL) and utility programs (i.e. IEBGENER, IDCAMS) to maintain z/OS software products,
• IBM’s file structure like (i.e. HFS, ZFS, PDS’s and PDSE’s), TSO ISPF panels, IBM’s SDSF and/or equivalent ISV product, and
• IBM data storage product DFSMS.
• Manage DB2 environment by updating/modifying DSNZPARM structure, utilizing DB2 CLIST/REXX to create/update DB2 subsystems.
• Provide updates for z/OS Parmlib/proclib and RACF definitions for new/updated subsystems
• Independently diagnose and resolve trouble calls in technical areas;
• Develop technical specifications, in accordance with established requirements and schedules;
• Develop and implement technical documentation, in accordance with established requirements and
• Schedules;
• Analyze performance reports and take appropriate action;
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery procedures and support periodic testing activities,
• Develop or recommend improved automation procedures.
